Olympic Distance

The Olympic Distance at Challenge Barcelona Triatló is open to all Age Group (AG) athletes, starting from 18 years old. This distance will take place on Sunday, 25 October 2026.

In the swimming section (1 lap) you will have the opportunity to swim in the Mar Bella beach, protected by the breakwaters from the bad sea, with views of the entire coastline of Barcelona and with the Olympic Port and Parc del Forum as the main elements.

The cycling section (4 laps) runs along the wide avenues near the sea, a flat and fast route that will allow you to enjoy different emblematic buildings of the city.

In the running section (2 laps) you will discover the promenade of Barcelona and you will feel the warmth and the atmosphere of the large audience.

VERY IMPORTANT

For the Sprint and Olympic category, you can use road or mountain bikes, except bikes with aerobars, which are forbidden. For the Short category, the use of aerobars is allowed. It is allowed drafting between athletes.

KEY INFORMATION

Race start procedure:

First, all licensed triathletes, relay teams, and pairs will start together in a single wave.

Next, the Rolling Start procedure will begin for all NON-licensed participants. First, athletes will enter a pre-start area where access will be controlled.

After the pre-start, participants will move to a call room where they will line up in 8 rows under the start arch. The race will begin with 8 triathletes starting every 5 seconds. The race time starts when the athlete crosses the chip timing mat at the start line.

Drafting is allowed in this distance during the bike segment.

The use of mountain bikes (MTB) is allowed. Aerobars or handlebar extensions are not permitted.
