The Open Water 1.900m at Challenge Barcelona Triathlon is open to all Age Group athletes (AG), starting from 18 years old. This race will take place on Saturday, 25 October 2025.

The swim segment (1 lap) gives you the chance to swim at Mar Bella beach, sheltered by breakwaters and protected from rough seas, with panoramic views of Barcelona’s coastline featuring the Olympic Port and the Forum Park as key landmarks.

All athletes who do not meet the cut-off times during the race will be disqualified and must leave the course.

KEY INFORMATION

Race start procedure:

The start procedure will follow a Rolling Start format, with a continuous flow of all participants. First, participants will enter a pre-start area where access will be controlled.

After the pre-start area, athletes will move into the start zone, where they will line up in 6 rows under the start arch. The race will begin with 6 triathletes starting every 5 seconds. The race time starts when the athlete crosses the chip timing mat at the start line.

The use of swim gear such as paddles, fins, snorkels, etc., that may provide an advantage is prohibited.
